Consumer Advocates Needed for Benton and Wright County for 2018

The Community Adult Mental Health Initiative (CAMHI) is looking for individuals who have been involved in the mental health system are interested in being a part of the CAMHI's Advisory Committee by filling the roles of a Consumer Advocate and Consumer Advocate Alternate for Benton County and Wright County.

Consumer Eligibility:

A) Consumer has a diagnosed serious and persistent mentally illness (SPMI)

B) The consumer is the financial responsibility of Benton or Wright county

If you are not sure if you qualify as a consumer or if you have any other questions, please contact CAMHI at 320-968-5277 or by email at camhi@co.benton.mn.us

Duties include attending and participating in the CAMHI Advisory Committee meetings. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the even numbered months from 1 to 3pm with a rotating schedule for the location. Participation in CAMHI's sub-committees are also encouraged, but not required.

If you are interested in being a Consumer Advocate for Benton or Wright County, please submit a letter of interest to the Mental Health Supervisor of the county you are a resident of no later than October 15, 2017. Letters can be sent attention "Mental Health Supervisor" to the following address:

Supervisors will present their nominations at the December 7th Advisory Committee meeting. The Advisory Committee will vote and approve candidates for the positions on that day. Please see the calendar on our website for meeting and location details.
