CAMHI Is Looking For Consumer Advocates!

The Community Adult Mental Health Initiative (CAMHI) is looking for individuals who have been involved in the mental health system and are interested in being a part of CAMHI by filling the roles of a Consumer Advocate or a Consumer Advocate Alternate. We currently have both positions open for Benton County and Wright County and an Alternate position open in Sherburne County starting immediately.

Consumer Eligibility:

A) Consumer has a diagnosed serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI); and

B) The consumer is a resident of Benton, Sherburne, Stearns or Wright County

If you are not sure if you qualify as a consumer or if you have any other questions, please contact the CAMHI Coordinator by email at camhi@co.benton.mn.us

Duties include attending and participating in the CAMHI Advisory Committee meetings. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the even-numbered months from 1 to 3pm with a rotating schedule for the location. Participation in CAMHI's sub-committees are also encouraged, but not required. Consumer Advocates will receive a stipend and mileage reimbursement for attending the CAMHI meetings. We currently meet virtually but will eventually be going back to in-person meetings.

If you are interested in being a Consumer Advocate for Benton, Sherburne, or Wright County, please submit a letter of interest to the Mental Health Supervisor of the county you are a resident of. Letters can be sent attention "Mental Health Supervisor" to the following address:
