"Safety" in self-help groups has become a buzz topic within the recovery community. There have been multiple news stories about predators attending self-help groups to prey upon those suffering from addiction and other disorders. This workshop will explore the backstory of "safety in self-help groups", examine the role that the courts and mental health professionals play and give audience members practical, useful and mindful applications to address this growing problem.
