St. Cloud Children's Home Has Two New Programs!

August 8, 2016

Mental Health and Stress/Trauma Focused – Adolescent Females
Program Description
The Adolescent Female Cottage is now open and accepting referrals! This is an individualized cottage that specializes in Residential Care for females who have a history of trauma as well as additional mental health diagnoses that would support the need of residential treatment. The duration of residential treatment will typically be 6-9 months, with the intent to improve the resident’s quality of life by teaching social skills as well as independent living skills. The therapist within this unit has extensive understanding of mental health and trauma to provide a safe and nurturing environment.

For more information on this program, please contact our Intake Coordinator, Marie Ritzer, at 320-650-1576 or mritzer@ccstcloud.org.

Please note: the best route for placing a referral is to work with your county social worker.

Autism Spectrum Disorder Cottage (ASD)
Program Description
The Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) cottage is an individualized cottage that specializes in Residential Care for males who have a diagnosis of ADS1 or ASD2 as well as a secondary mental health diagnosis that would support the need of residential treatment. The duration of residential treatment will typically be 6-12 months, with the intent to improve the resident’s quality of life by teaching social skills as well as
independent living skills. This program provides a higher ratio of staff to residents, a trauma informed care focus to support the ASD resident in reaching their full potential, and a specialized curriculum. The specialized cottage also creates the ability to create a more therapeutic environment for residents diagnosed with ASD as the environment is more aesthetically delicate to ASD sensitivities.

For more information on this program, please contact our Intake Coordinator, Marie Ritzer, at 320-650-1576 or mritzer@ccstcloud.org.

Please note: the best route for placing a referral is to work with your county social worker.
